How we check who you're hiring
Verification reduces risk — it is not a guarantee of workmanship. Here's exactly what we check, what we don't, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Before a tradie can respond to jobs
Identity
Every tradie verifies their identity before they can respond to a single job. In India, this can happen instantly via Aadhaar e-KYC; in Australia, via a document check.
Business
Business registration is checked — ABN in Australia, GSTIN in India — so you know who you're actually dealing with.
Licence & insurance, where required
For trades that legally require a licence or insurance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, locksmith and others), that's checked too — and re-checked on expiry, not just once at signup.
A tradie only ever goes fully active once every case that applies to their trade is approved — not just some of them. Categories that don't legally require a licence or insurance don't block on one that doesn't apply.
Verification doesn't stop at signup
Insurance and licences expire. We track expiry dates and warn a tradie 14 and 7 days out — and if it lapses without renewal, they're automatically restricted from accepting new jobs in that category until it's current again. This isn't a one-time check we forget about.
Reviews are locked to real jobs
You can only review a tradie after a job you actually posted and paid for is marked complete. There's no open review wall a tradie (or anyone else) can post to.
Disputes go to a real review queue
If a job doesn't go to plan, either side can raise a dispute. It's reviewed by our team against the job's actual record — messages, quotes, and payment status — not just one person's account of it.
Payments are held through the platform
Payment goes through our platform's payment provider (Stripe in Australia, Razorpay in India) rather than being handed over in cash or bank transfer outside the system — so there's a real record if something needs to be disputed.
What verification is — and isn't
What we check
- • Real identity, matched to the person operating the account
- • Real business registration (ABN / GSTIN)
- • Licence and insurance, for trades that legally require them, re-checked on expiry
- • That every review came from a customer on a job they actually paid for
What we don't claim
- • We never say a tradie is “government verified” or use licensing language beyond what was actually checked
- • Verification doesn't guarantee the quality of finished work
- • A high Trust tier reflects a completed-job track record — it isn't a ranking or a paid placement
